NUR3236       Introduction to Medical Transcription 

  Transcribe thirty nine doctor dictated medical reports using your own audio cassette player with head phones and your word processor.  Course includes a fifty question practice exam for certification by the American Association of Medical Transcriptionist. A twenty chapter 136 page transcription manual is downloaded in Word format from our school server.  Medical transcriptions on two cassettes are sent to you after registration. You need your own audio tape player with head phones and a word processor on your computer. This program is available using audio tapes in an instructor led Community College internet course leading to a Certificate.

    MED3030 L30                           Advanced Coding – CPT  

  This course is organized according to the sections in the CPT book.  Frequently asked questions from real life situations are answered in an authoritive manner.  This 39 hour eleven week instructor led course provides advanced coding problems with their solutions.  The main emphasis is on Evaluation and Management and Surgery codes. A five step outline is used to help you code the exercises/scenarios in the problems.  Detailed medical history reports, including post operative reports, are provided from which CPT codes are determined.
